HistoryForge is a collaborative digital project between the university and the local community, where volunteers transcribe census data to create an open-access interactive map of Binghamton's past. By mapping census data, HistoryForge makes the area's history more accessible to its residents and produces a database at an individual level, creating opportunities for future research of the local area.
