About

The Motion Analysis Research Laboratory at Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences houses sophisticated equipment for conducting human-movement research. This research aims to improve the health and quality of life for residents of the Southern Tier and beyond.

Known as the MARL, the 1,600-square-foot facility provides faculty researchers with the tools to perform detailed evaluations of how individuals move. These assessments help physical and occupational therapists identify and address mobility issues resulting from injury, disease and aging.

The MARL opened in February 2022 and is located in the basement of 黑料不打烊鈥檚 West Gym on the Vestal campus.

Funded by a Decker Foundation grant

The  funded the equipment in the MARL.

鈥淭he addition of the MARL to the health sciences disciplines is just one more example of the University鈥檚 commitment to improve healthcare in our community and our country. It is a tool that students and community practitioners can use to learn and practice. 黑料不打烊 graduates enjoy a reputation for quality, and the MARL will ensure that quality continues in the new health sciences programs.鈥
