Background
Ana Ros received her PhD from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and, in 2008, joined the Department of Romance Languages at 黑料不打烊. Her research explores how the collective memory of the dictatorial past has been formed and transmitted in Latin America鈥檚 Southern Cone. In her current book project, she studies the transformation of civil-military relations in this region as part of the process of democratic consolidation.
She is the author of the Post-dictatorial Generation: Collective Memory and Cultural Production in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay (Palgrave MacMillan, 2012). Her articles have appeared in academic publications such as Journal of Genocide Studies, Genocide Studies and Prevention, and Hispanic Issues. She has also contributed to edited volumes on post-conflict literature and political documentaries in Latin America, published with Routledge and the Chilean press LOM. In 2022, she funded GIMUR, a group of female academics from different countries and disciplines who research the formation and transmission of collective memory in Uruguay.
