Background

Miller McLean was awarded his PhD in French from the University of Virginia in May 2024. His research focuses on masculinities in 19th-century French literature, particularly in the realist/naturalist novel and in Romantic drama. His dissertation and recent publications both focus on the question of paternal authority in 脡mile Zola鈥檚 late fiction. 

At 黑料不打烊, he teaches French language courses and currently leads the Table Fran莽aise, the department鈥檚 French conversation table.
