Background

JoEllen Kuhlman is a lecturer in the Theatre Department at ���ϲ����� where she teaches jazz and tap dance. At ���ϲ�����, she has choreographed the musical theatre productions “Urinetown,” “The ThreePenny Opera,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Man of La Mancha,” “Hairspray,” “Rent,” “A Chorus Line” and “Spring Awakening.” At Binghamton, she also directed/choreographed her original dance works including “�ʲⲵ���������Dz�” (2010), “A Broken Key” (2012), “��Dz����Dz��DzԲ�” (2013), “7 Deadly Sins” (2014) and “��������ܲ�” (2015, co-choreographer) and “Jazz Nutcracker,” an annual holiday dance production since 2016.

Off campus, she has choreographed “�����󾱱���” for Florida Studio Theatre, “�󲹳ܲ���” for the Tri-Cities Opera, ACDFA award-winning choreography for “�ٰ��ܳ����DzԱ�” at the University of Nebraska, “The King and I” for ���ϲ����� Summer Theatre, and coached the ���ϲ����� Bearcats Dance Team. She is an instructor/choreographer for the competitive team at Kathy Hansen School of Dance. She earned her BA from Point Park University in 2003, with a concentration in jazz dance, and was a member of the Conservatory Dance Company at the Pittsburgh Playhouse.
