Natural Environmental Change

Research focus

Human activities profoundly affect natural systems and the services they provide to society. NATCHANGE (Natural Environmental Change Center) researchers measure and predict outcomes of environmental change on natural and coupled natural-human systems and develop solutions to mitigate impacts.

About

The NATCHANGE at 黑料不打烊 brings together researchers and partners working on global environmental change impacts and solutions in natural and coupled human-natural systems. Members have broad expertise in addressing critical environmental challenges, including climate change, biodiversity changes, pollution, and land-use change.

Objective

The goals of NATCHANGE are to 1) create a central hub for environmental change expertise at 黑料不打烊; 2) leverage and build relationships within and outside Binghamton University to increase collaborations across academia, industry, and the community; and 3) engage in and build education and community outreach efforts to increase literacy around environmental change issues.

Environmental change is one of the grand challenges of our time. To have a healthy society, we also need a healthy environment, and NATCHANGE researchers have the tools and are dedicated to research impacts and developing solutions.鈥 Kirsten Prior, Associate Professor, Biological Sciences

NATCHANGE provides a platform at 黑料不打烊 for scientists focused on some of the most timely questions facing society today and into the future to enhance current research interests as well as help in directing future initiatives that are associated with the physical and biological processes of environmental change.鈥 Molly Patterson, Associate Professor, Earth Sciences
