Sharon O'Neill

Sharon O'Neill serves as the Director of the Office of Talent and Engagement. With over two decades of experience in higher education, Sharon has held leadership roles across Residential Life and Student Affairs before transitioning into her current position in 2017, where she oversees the University's holistic talent management strategy.
Sharon's work is rooted in collaboration, innovation and a deep commitment to cultivating a positive and inclusive workplace culture. She holds a Masters degree in Higher Education Administration from Kent State University and a Bachelor's degree in English and Psychology from the University at Buffalo. Beyond her formal roles, Sharon has contributed to numerous university committees, mentored emerging leaders and championed wellness and diversity initiatives across campus.
Sharon is passionate about building community, fostering professional growth and creating an environment where employees feel valued and supported.
Diana Castellanos
Talent Acquisition Specialist

Diana Castellanos is a Talent Acquisition Specialist, where she focuses on recruiting and hiring top talent who will contribute to the University's mission and culture. In this role, she is responsible for reaching out to and assisting candidates throughout the entire search process, communicating with hiring managers and facilitating candidate interviews. With over a decade of experience in higher education, Diana has held roles in Residential Life, Student Transition and Success and Student Empowerment with a focus on equity.
Diana earned her Bachelor's degree in International Students and her Master's degree is Student Affairs Administration from the University at Buffalo. She is an alum of the SUNY Hispanic Leadership Fellowship. Diana served in the U.S. Army Reserve and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran.
Diana's work is centered on creating inclusive and equitable search processes that attract the best candidates and enhance the University's campus culture.
Andre Mathis
Employee Engagement Specialist

Andre Mathis is an Employee Engagement Specialist, where he leads efforts to strengthen workplace culture, support staff engagement and enhance employee retention. In this role, he develops onboarding initiatives, coordinates campus events and fosters a sense of community through programs that reflect the University's values and culture.
Andre also supports the University's Dual Career Program, assisting the partners of new hires with job search guidance and career resources.
A two-time Binghamton alum, Andre holds a Masters degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. He brings a strong background in higher education, public service and organizational leadership, and currently serves as the Chair of the University's Professional Staff Senate.
Andre is passionate about creating inclusive, engaging environments where employees feel welcomed, supported and empowered to grow.
